"EnteroWave is creating innovative needle-delivered neurostimulation devices for gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. We use proprietary neuromodulation methods that elicit specific physiological responses, including the ability to mimic the therapeutic effect of a gastric bypass. Diabetes and obesity are a worldwide epidemic, and our devices offer a low-cost, low-risk alternative to surgical intervention. These versatile devices can also be reconfigured for the treatment of other conditions including GERD, IBS, or motility disorders. Our patented miniaturization technology comes from Stanford, and our proprietary neuromodulation techniques come from years of research at both Johns Hopkins Medical Center and the University of Texas Medical Branch. Our millimeter-sized devices are externally powered and controlled, and open a new realm of applications because of the lower costs and risk without surgery. Currently we are building wireless prototypes for animal and clinical studies."
