A major application for C-BCI technology is in gaming. Developers seek to use BCI technology both as a control input, and as a way to detect the emotional response of the player. This allows the game environment to reactively change depending on the mood of the player in order to tailor its experience to the individual. There is not much development taking place in this area, due to the emerging and uncommon nature of the hardware, third-party developers are hesitant to spend time developing games for it. There are a few games developed or sponsored by the manufacturers of C-BCI technology, however. [1]

A major benefit of C-BCI gaming devices is the way they make games playable by people with effectively physical disability.
