The Buzsáki Lab studies how neural circuits generate and organize brain activity, with a focus on the hippocampus and it's interactions with cortical and subcortical regions. The lab investigates neural oscillations, neural firing patterns, and their role in cognition and behavior, using large-scale electrophysiological recordings and methods such as closed-loop optogenetics in behaving rodents.
