"We take a computational perspective, and ask how motor commands might be produced by recurrently connected networks with strong internal dynamics. We ask whether empirical neural data, collected during the performance of motor tasks, reflects basic computational principles that can be inferred from existing theory. Conversely, we ask when existing theory should be modified to incorporate principles gleaned from examination of empirical data."
