"Philips Neuro (EGI) is pleased to partner with Hitachi to other the ETG 4100 Optical Topography system for hemodynamic measurements using near-infrared light. The system transmits near-infrared light through the skull to the cerebral cortex, where the light is absorbed by hemoglobin. These changing concentrations of hemoglobin correspond to regions of activation within the cerebral cortex, providing an effective non-invasive measure of brain activity ideal for use with participants of all ages – neonate through adult."
